چکیده

This paper presents a formula-based method for the design of IIR filters having more zeros than (nontrivial) poles. The filters are designed so that their square magnitude frequency responses are maximally-flat at ! = 0 and at ! = and are thereby generalizations of classical digital Butterworth filters. A main result of the paper is that, for a specified half-magnitude frequency and a specified number of zeros, there is only one valid way in which to split the zeros between z = 1 and the passband. IIR filters having more zeros than poles are of interest, because often, to obtain a good trade-off between performance and the expense of implementation, just a few poles are best.

Generalized Digital Butterworth Filter Design - Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on

This correspondence introduces a new class of infinite impulse response (IIR) digital filters that unifies the classical digital Butterworth filter and the well-known maximally flat FIR filter. New closedform expressions are provided, and a straightforward design technique is described. The new IIR digital filters have more zeros than poles (away from the origin), and their (monotonic) square m...

Design of IIR Digital Highpass Butterworth Filter

Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filter is of recursive type filter. The present output sample of an IIR filter depends on the present input samples, past input samples and past output samples. There are a number of techniques available to determine the digital IIR Filters. This paper is based on the computer based approach to design the digital IIR filter along with the calculation of filter co...

Frequency Transformation for Linear State-Space Systems and Its Application to High-Performance Analog/Digital Filters

Frequency transformation is one of the well-known techniques for design of analog and digital filters [1, 2]. This technique is based on variable substitution in a transfer function and allows us to easily convert a given prototype low-pass filter into any kind of frequency selective filter such as low-pass filters of different cutoff frequencies, high-pass filters, band-pass filters, and band-...
